As President of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, I would like to recommend an exciting and effective faith-based program, which is currently making quite an impact in the Metro Davidson County Detention Facility in Nashville, Tennessee. With so much focus in the media recently concerning faith-based initiatives, I believe, we have an incredible opportunity within Pennsylvania’s own corrections community to take advantage of such a program. The results are remarkable and I believe it may be of interest to you.
I have had some involvement personally with Theotherapy Seminars, Incorporated, and believe the organization to be truly dedicated to seeing change come to those considered “unchangeable.” For over three years now over 500 inmates in Nashville and according to the available statistics have experienced Theotherapy’s prison initiative; the recidivism rate of those inmates who graduate from the program and are released is below 15%. That is quite a comparison to the current national rate of recidivism.
Theotherapy Seminars is hoping to gain entrance into Pennsylvania’s penal system. Their track record proves them to be an organization committed to integrity and reliability. Their comprehensive prison initiative is having such an impact in the Nashville area that many criminal court judges, the Public Defender’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office are starting to recommend Theotherapy’s prison program as a prerequisite for a suspended sentence, parole and work release.
Sincerely,
John Stahl-Wert
