I am writing to express my appreciation for the Theotherapy program that takes place at Matro-Davidson County Detention Facility.  Theotherapy has had a great impoact on the inmates who have been through it.  To this date, since it began at Metro in January, 2002, Theotherapy has graduated approximately 100 men and 100 women from the program.  I have noticed the recidivism rate for those completing Theotherapy to be less than 15% as compared with the 70-80% of general population inmates.  The local director is Mr. Mark West, and I have found him to be a person who has a heart for helping inmates experience a change in the direction of their lives while appreciating and respecting the restrictions of security of the facility.

As Chaplain, I have direct oversight over all faith-based programs and I can say without reservation that I am very pleased to have Theotherapy as a part of the faith-based programming here at Metro.
